Hi, my name is Amy!
I am an Industrial/Organizational psychologist, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about why work works - and why it doesn't.
My focus is on learning and development, talent management, and organizational effectiveness. In practice this means: how do you design training that changes behavior and shows impact? How do you build systems to develop people before you lose them? How do you align people and processes so the organization actually functions? But the thread running through all of this work is human development: helping leaders grow into their roles, helping teams figure out how to actually collaborate, and helping organizations build the kind of culture where people can do their best work.
The way I approach problems is consistent regardless of the context: I start by asking what's getting in the way of people succeeding, and then work backwards from there. This could mean redesigning a training program, rethinking a talent process, or helping a team name a dynamic that's been boiling underneath the surface. I love working at the intersection of strategy and execution by taking an ambitious goal and building the clear, practical path that gets people there.
I currently put this into practice as a Business Process Consultant at Completely, a career and life coaching organization. I develop workshops and services, facilitate client engagements, and build infrastructure for scalability and growth. Before that, my work spanned performance management, organizational development and learning, and career development. This has given me a wide view of how organizations actually function versus how they think they function.

This site is a little bit of everything: my resume and portfolio, but also a space where I write about the things I'm thinking through in the field. If you want to know how I work, the blog is the best place to start.
